It is an offence for anyone other than an authorized consultant or a lawyer to charge a fee for immigration or citizenship advice or representation at any stage of an application or proceeding. If you pay a non-authorized consultant, the Canadian government can refuse your application. The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) is the regulatory body of Canadian immigration consultants.
